expiration dates

Any of you who know me (Rachel) know that I am all about coupons. Coupons from circulars, coupon books, online coupons, coupon codes, and so on. Well, several years ago [I think it was actually the year we first started dating] I gave Claude a little homemade coupon book of sorts. In retrospect, I now realize that I made a huge mistake with that book...I forgot to include expiration dates. This realization came yesterday when this 3+ year old coupon appeared on our refrigerator:

In case it's not glaringly obvious this coupon seems to have been modified a bit since issued, but since I love to bake and wanted to lighten the mood of Claude's impending month of doom I happily obliged.

I myself snuck a few of these cookies (which were supposed to be "just for Claude") and if I do say so they were pretty good. That probably has to do with the fact that they're a Paula Deen recipe...which Claude protested when he found out. Since they're oatmeal raisin I think they're still relatively not as unhealthy as most of those recipes but I told him I'll cut some better next time:)

I'm off to start painting the top 1/2 of our room to match the bottom 1/2. Wish me luck and a steady hand!

Rachel

  1. Yeah, Paula Dean recipes have LOTS more butter than they actually need! What a cute idea, the coupon book. I'll have to try that out if I get a chance!
