hooray for company!

The weekend before last we were thrilled to get to spend some time with Claude's parents. They were able to stay with us for the weekend and even though we wish they could have stayed even longer, we had a great time over the couple of days they were here! Friday night after Claude gave the tour around the house we ate supper here at our house, and considering my current non-expertise in cooking I guess the food turned out okay... [I promise I'll get lots more practice cooking in before y'alls next visit though so it'll be a little better:) ] Saturday morning Claude headed off to a couple of hours at the hospital for a conference and by the time he got home mid-morning we were all ready to set off on a day of driving around town. Claude's parents actually lived here for a couple of years some years ago and so they actually had more to show us around town than we had to show them! In the midst of touring around we ate lunch at a local inn here which I really enjoyed because I drive by it fairly often and have been wanting to stop in for lunch sometime. After finishing up the day of driving around we made a trip to Lowe's and then came back to the house for a little bit before heading to supper. You might remember that we kept a little dog named Lexi a couple of weeks back. Well not too long after Lexi's parents picked her up we got a sweet thank-you and PF Changs gift certificate in the mail and thought this would be a great time to go eat there. To beat the crowds we got there kind of on the early side which worked out well because we didn't have to wait at all for a table. Supper was great with my personal favorite probably being the banana spring rolls for dessert:)

While the weekend was well-documented on camera overall I only have a couple of pictures on my camera. This picture above was taken after supper...we're all toasting Lexi for our meal out:)

Following supper we walked a little around the mall next door for a bit-I'll leave that excursion to Claude for later because I think he wants to post a couple of his pictures! We got back to the house just in time for the kick-off of the Florida-LSU game and watched that for a while until everyone finally retired for the night. On Sunday morning we all got ready a little earlier to make it to the early church service. Claude and I really enjoyed getting to go to church with his parents again-so that was a real treat. We then headed back to the house one last time so they could finish packing up to get back on the road a pretty long trip back to MS with one last stop for lunch at TGIFridays. Since we were early-birds to church we actually opened the restaurant up for lunch:) Then it was time to say bye...which was sad for us. We miss everybody at home and especially hate to see our families go! One thing's for sure...we can't wait for the next visit!
